about

In A Piece Of Work, concrete composer crys cole takes us on a journey through those inbetween places. Fragments collected over time in Oslo, Berlin, Vienna, Winnipeg, Melbourne and Lisbon were later arranged and assembled into an invented space, a story arc, a freeform poem. cole's work is one of dynamics and proximity, of complexity and sensitivity. One that embraces both montage and movement. – Second Editions

"... cole's less interested in hard cuts than imperceptible evolution; her elements shift like sunlight, dipping behind the clouds for a moment, diving from view with perfect, natural timing... Each element has its purpose, nothing's grandstanding or there for the sake of it - cole allows us to perceive and absorb elements as if they were changes in temperature, and read into them continuously like words with several layers of meaning." – Boomkat
